The UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce and Industry [UKBCCI] held their Annual General Meeting &
election on 22nd August 2022 at their London head office, Montefiore Centre. Entrepreneur and British-
Bangladeshi Community Activist, Mohammed Gulam Moula Miah from Solihull, West Midlands has been elected
as the President of UKBCCI. M G Moula Miah had served as the Midlands Regional President and organised a
range of networking events during his tenure of the Midlands region, to bring the Midlands’ British Bangladeshi
entrepreneurs on a national representation, who now goes on to national representation of the organisation. The
newly elected President said that it is the time for UKBCCI to move forward in the post-pandemic world and
continue to play an active role in securing new business and supporting existing businesses, alongside the
support of Board of Directors of UKBCCI.
UKBCCI’s primary aim is to build trade bridges and opportunities of enterprise between Britain and Bangladesh.
It is a member-based business organisation for British and Bangladeshi entrepreneurs. The organisation has
made valuable representation and contributions to the UK-Bangladesh business community in both nations and
endeavours to continue their participation by seeking the best help and guidance from relevant bodies and
government departments. Also, the organisation organises regular events to promote networking between
successful entrepreneurs and act as a means of inspiring tomorrow’s new enterprise. UKBCCI Chairman, Iqbal
Ahmed OBE DBA is a renowned international entrepreneur and philanthropist; Founding president, Bajloor
Rashid MBE has worked to grow UKBCCI into a mainstream organisation for the British Bangladeshi community.
The Board thanked outgoing President Mr N I Nuru for his efforts especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, as
well as openly welcoming M G Moula Miah to execute the organisations upcoming objectives.
The 2022-2024 UKBCCI panel was elected in via an election process, commissioned by Ms Rohema Miah
(Election Commissioner, UKBCCI) and programme conducted by Barrister Anawar Miah. During the AGM there
was a full agenda, covering the work and success of the organisation as well the presentation of annual
accounts.
