Nottinghamshire’s Joe Clarke feels “embarrassment and shame” over his past involvement in a vulgar WhatsApp group with convicted rapist Alex Hepburn. Clarke, 25, used the messaging app to discuss sexual conquests with former Worcestershire team-mates Hepburn and Tom Kohler-Cadmore back in 2017. Hepburn was jailed for five years in 2019 after raping a woman who had earlier engaged in consensual sex with Clarke. Birmingham primary school pupils took part in a mini-triathlon last week as part of an event hosted by the Brownlee Foundation and Britain’s fifth-largest supermarket Aldi. Olympic triathlete stars and founders of the Brownlee Foundation, Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, were on hand to help around 500 youngsters take on a 50-metre swim, 800-metre cycle and 300-metre run. The event was one of many taking place across the country, with the Brownlee Foundation aiming to educate and inspire children around the importance of physical exercise. Leicester colleagues from the UK’s community bank, Metro Bank have raised £986.89 for Cancer Research UK. The University of Wolverhampton has secured almost £10,000 funding to create awareness of organ donation across four major faith groups across the West Midlands. The University’s School of Art and the Centre for Sikh and Panjabi Studies has secured the funding to continue raising awareness amongst the Sikh, Hindu, Jain and Buddhist communities across the region. A West Midlands healthcare Trust has revealed how it is playing its part in helping the NHS to cut one million tonnes of C02 emissions.
